Building Bonds, Developing Relationships with Young Children

Exploring R.I.E. : Responsive Infant Educare

This session is based on the book "Infants, Toddlers and Caregivers, written by Janet Gonzalez-Mena.  It explains the method started by Magda Gerber of Respectful, Responsive and Reciprocal relationships with infants and toddlers.  Participants will learn the 10 principles of providing care in this manner.

This class will examine current practice and develop a plan for improvement using strategies and skills which will help us move away from reliance on time outs.
We will examine our own beliefs as well as theories of development of bonds and attachment to understand how building relationships improves guidance.
